What is the Walnut Valley Educational Foundation? WVEF is a nonprofit organization that provides summer enrichment programs to students throughout Walnut Valley Unified School District.

Who can enroll in the summer program? Students entering Grades 1-5 can enroll in the summer enrichment program.

How can I register and when is the latest I can register? You can register your child online HERE Registration will end on May 21, 2021.

What if I register my child after May 21, 2021? Your child will be placed on a “Wait List” until a spot opens in the appropriate grade level.

Is it possible for my child to attend less than 6 weeks? If so, do we need to pay full tuition? Tuition secures your child’s spot in the program from June 7th-July 15th. At this time, we do not offer modified programs.

Why is there a tuition fee for summer school? California’s state government does not provide funding for summer school enrichment programs to any public schools. WVEF is a non-profit entity that runs a fee-based enrichment program for students entering grades 1-5. The tuition covers the expenses related to running this program, including: salaries, website licenses, access to online learning platforms.

Can I receive a tax deduction for the tuition paid? WVEF is a non-profit 501(c) (3) Corporation. Part of the tuition paid may be tax deductible. Check with your tax professional. Tax ID. #95-4620000

Is there any financial aid available? Unfortunately, we are not able to provide scholarships or financial aid to allow students to attend this summer school program

I have more than one child attending the program. Is there a family discount? Yes, there is a family discount. You will receive $40 off for each additional child for each program.

What if the program does not have space for my child? If WVEF cannot accommodate your child with a space in the enrichment program, a full refund will be provided.

What if I decide not to send my child after I have paid tuition and received confirmation? Cancellations must be received BEFORE 5:00 PM on Friday, May 21, 2021 via email to the program director, Dr. Mary Wendland, @ summerschool@walnutvalleyfoundation.com to be eligible for a partial reimbursement. A handling fee of $30 will be charged and the remaining amount will be reimbursed. WVEF will not be able to refund cancellations received after 5:00 PM Friday, May 21, 2021.

Can I get a refund if my child stops attending summer school? Refunds will not be granted for ANY reason after 5:00 p.m. on Friday, May 21, 2021.

How will I know if my child is enrolled? You will receive an email on or before May 30, 2021 to confirm your child’s registration and the name of his or her teacher.
