Almost 30 years ago, Bob and Gayle Pacheco, founding members of WVEF,  bumped into a WVUSD teacher at the old Kmart in Diamond Bar. She said she was buying school supplies for her classroom.  After going to another store, they saw the same teacher again buying more school supplies.  This was the genesis for the idea to raise funds to provide grants to teachers so they wouldn't have to be out of pocket for things they need in their classroom.  This was the birth of the WVEF Teddy Bear Tea and the Teacher's Mini-Grants.  After hibernating for four years due to the pandemic, the 24th annual Teddy Bear Tea will be back on Saturday, December 9th, at the Diamond Bar Center!
